In a Pana chart each box also shows the Open Pana on the left and the Close Pana on the right. Charts are useful to check a past result or see how often a Jodi has appeared.

Chart Study – Records, Not Predictions

Many players count how often a Jodi or an Open digit has appeared in a chart. This is only a look at the past. Every result is separate, so a chart cannot tell you the next number, and nobody can give a guaranteed, fixed or "100% sure" number. Be careful of anyone who sells such numbers.

The Open is the first part of a market's result: the Open Pana and the Open digit. The Final is the complete result after the Close is declared, written as Open Pana – Jodi – Close Pana. Until the Close is declared the result is shown with stars, for example 119-1*-***.
